No, unfortunately not. There is a chat plugin enabled right now, I think you will have to login to see it, but it doesn't load for me. I'm keeping it enabled, though, as maybe the problem is on my end.
I remember seeing phpBB running mChat, it worked like a charm featuring a wide chat applet across the front page when logged in. Somewhat unreliable at times but did have some admin privileges too for managing spam and stuff.

I've tried mChat but no dice on PhpBB 3.3. I may have to downgrade to 3.2, also for compatibility with other lovely extensions. There's an extension that turns this into a social medium, complete with profile walls, user following and all. It's called cBB Follower.
Could be cross-compatibility issue, some discussions point to ABBC or other extensions interfering with mChat, but may otherwise be OK. It might just need some experimentation on a test server.
